Guests gathered in the Ahmanson Murphy Foyer of the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles,
Calaifornia. Over 300 people attended the event on November 12, 2006
honoring Authur Bilger with the Friends of ELIYA-USA's 2006 Visionary Award.
The 2006 Gala was chaired by Drs. Uri and Myna Herscher of the Skirball Cultural Center, Michael and Patricia Klowden of the Milken
Institute and Mitchell Kamin and Susan Genco of Bet Tzedek - The House of Justice.
Maury Friedman, Chairman of the Board of Friends of ELIYA-USA emceed the
evening. He spoke of his friendship and admiration of Arthur Bilger.
Michael Segal, Executive Director of ELIYA in Israel, addressed the gathering sharing the
successes ELIYA has acheived over the last year. He gave examples of
children who have grown to adulthood who are active participants in Israeli society.
Jerry Krautman, Executive Director of Friends of ELIYA-USA, thanked the Bilger Family
and all those who helped make the evening a success and invited those gathered to
participate in upcoming events and visit ELIYA in Isael.
Dr. Uri Herscher introduced Arthur Bilger by outlining the many important projects Art has been involved in.
He also discuss his and his wife Myna's recent trip to visit ELIYA in Israel.
