
Jerry Krautman, Executive Director
Jerry is Friends of ELIYA-USA's first Executive Director. He was born in Denver, Colorado and graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a BA in Mass Media Communications in 1978.
While in Denver he was employed by the Denver and Metropolitan Association for Retarded Citizens as the Director of Communications and Graphic Services. He moved to Baltimore and was employed as the Director of Development for Jews for Judaism.
He pursued an MBA in Non-profit Management from the University of Judaism. During this time he was employed as the Resident Director of the resident community. He also interned at the Los Angeles Jewish Federation’s Planning and Allocations Department where he did research for his thesis entitled, "A Study of the Acculturation and Jewish Identity of Soviet Jews Emigrating to Los Angeles Between 1972 and 1989."
Upon graduation was employed as the Executive Director of Adat Shalom, General Manager of Innovative Lighting Services and most recently Executive Director of University Synagogue in Brentwood, California.
